Product Branding

Cryoserver needed a white label product brand that put their email archiving software into the focus of what they sell as a service. Solar Archive was a name that already existed for Cryoserver, however it was to be a new global venture for the company and I needed to create the brand to have an impact.

Concept work

The client wanted to see ideas for imagery and colouring that could be paired with the brand to use in guides. Here are the 4 concepts that stood out the most. I favoured the bottom design as it had more potential for further development in terms of symbolism using icons.

Final Development

The font used for the last concept became favoured by the client and so it was used for the typography of the naming of the brand only. I was tasked to develop a more interesting icon based design and therefore came up with this final option. I developed on one of my sketch ideas and fused a simple box in reference to containment with the use of negative space to bring out the envelope icon shaped into a cloud in reference to emailing.

Design Guidelines

Now that the brand had been completed and signed off, I had to work on creating the guidelines around it. I had the chance to explore the appropriate imagery we needed to adopt. This involved anything fairly abstract and not too tech related, however it had to of course be red. I also needed to show examples of how the brand could be rolled out onto various collateral.
